Nothing can boost your business reputation than a free advertisement, especially when it comes from a passionate and influential customer.

If they are an expert or have large online followers, their praises and recommendations of your brand to others would make your business go viral, growing your business reputation and bringing in new customers with a positive view of your business.

Do you know you could make people go beyond using and loving your product and service? You can make people fall in love with your brand by creating something valuable to them and they would spread the word about it.

But how do you get this loyalty and love? We will answer your questions from “who are brand evangelists” to “how you can gain their loyalty.”

Brand Evangelist Definition

A brand evangelist is a customer who loves your brand and will spread the word to others. Brand evangelist often recommends, or promote your product or services to others for free.

Most people often respect word-of-mouth marketing more than other types of marketing, it takes time and effort to build a tribe of loyal followers.

Think of how many times you have freely recommended your favorite books or software to others, or the times you have shared an article you love online, or when you told a friend or family member where you got that dress, smart device, etc.

We have all done brand evangelism for some business knowingly or unknowingly, it might be because you love the service or product, and maybe everything about the company.

The Benefit Of Brand Evangelist

There are a lot of benefits we get when people will evangelize our brand for free. This is our four best benefits.

1. Free Advertising

With people spreading the word of your business, sharing your article, recommending your product and services to others, that is a free advertisement you don’t get to pay for.

2. New Positive Customer

When you get a new customer that got a recommendation, from a friend or family or someone who has used your product or service, the new customer is ready to buy, no doubt or fear of doing business with you for the first time because he or she has someone with a positive review of your business.

3. Build Brand Reputation

Word of mouth marketing is one of the best ways to build your brand reputation, this way your customer don’t just hear you brag about how great your product and service it, but he or she gets to hear other people talk about it.

4. Happy Customer

For it satisfies a customer to talk about your brand, product or service for free when the customer is happy with how your business is helping them.

How to create brand evangelists

While they do Brand evangelism out of selfless love, there are ways you can make your customers fall in love with your brand and make them spread the word to others.

1. Keep your brand promise

A lot of businesses make tons of promise with their product, service, and brand and don’t keep any. For example; This course will make you an expert, this article is all you need to know about how to bake XYZ, we will send you our newsletter every two days and so on. Don’t make promises you can’t keep if you promise something to make sure you keep it.

2. Give your customers value for their money

I am sure this is not the first time you are hearing this, giving your customer value that is worth their money is very important. This is one thing customers pay attention to, is it worth the money? If you can do this right, you will have people telling other people about your brand.

3. Unique attributes and ways of doing business

Everybody wants to share something new and unique with their friends, family members or people they know. Creating something unique makes you stand out from your competitors, so always do something unique in your business.

4. Clear communication

The wrong communication can get you the wrong result in life and in business, communication is important. How do you communicate your product and service? Is your vision and mission statement clear? Is your sales copy or article clear? Nobody wants to share what they don’t understand to others. Nobody wants to be an advocate of confusion.

5. Consistence

To get people to talk about you, you need to be consistent; You need to show up every day; You need to deliver, and customers have a way of knowing when you are not consistent. Nobody will share a brand who will be here today and will not be there tomorrow.

6. Be an expert

When I think of SEO experts, the first four names that come to mind are brain Dean, Neil Patel, Rand Fishkin, Loren Baker, guess what will happen when I get to ask for an SEO expert, yes that’s right I will share this expert website, books, blog, email and so on. Being an expert in your niche will get you free recommendations and share more than you can ever think.

7. Give back to your customers

How can you tell your customers thank you and let them know you appreciate them for patronizing your band? While making them know your business is not a charity business.

Simple do giveaways, give out promo codes, coupon, give them a discount. Give to your customer and they will tell the entire world if they can how generous your brand is.

8. Support and help your customers

Don’t just focus on building a sales team as other big brands do. Build a brilliant support team; A support team that can answer questions fast, and helps the customers when they are having trouble with delivery, a product not working issue, service delay and other problems your customer can have. Make the support team fast to go to.

9. Engage with your customers on social media

I mean social media is for communication don’t just use it to run ads and pushing your content. Answer customers the question, comment, ask a question. Make sure you engage with your fans on social media, it will make them close to the brand and easy to spread the word.

10. Let the customer voice be loud

This is the least you can do for people who are preaching the word about your business, listen to their recommendations, listen to what they want, but don’t just listen, act upon the feedback, surveys, and information given to you by your customers.

Where should brand evangelism start?

Preaching about your brand should be something the founding team and employees do on a regular base. Building a community of loyal followers is important, holding meet up, event and conferences.

Hubspot brings together 26,000 plus people to their annual Inbound event.

Salesforce’s annual conference dreamforce brings together 150,000 plus people passionate about solving problems that existed in the CRM space.

Clickfunnels have the yearly conference Funnel Hacking Live with over 5,000 plus people passionate about using click funnels for their business.

Look at the numbers of those loyal followers, even if you build something better than HubSpot, Salesforce or clickfunnel, your voice won’t be that loud because their customers would be busy preaching about them.

Conclusion

Thousand of people won’t buy from you until they see that someone has bought from you and is happy.

Some people are looking for customer reviews or testimony, some people are looking for expert opinion, while some are looking for a recommendation and some are looking for people close to them either a family member, friends or even social media friends.

All that matters is don’t be the only one preaching about your product, make your services and product so great that people will spread the word.

We would love to hear your thought
